Captains Blog Stardate 11212011 Thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving day plan is to eat with my family in Beckley. We've been doing this for the past several years. We eat all the classic Thanksgiving foods, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos, etc. On my 3 days off (aside from thursday) I will be rehearsing/performing in Mary The Rock Opera. Here's a website about it ! You should come see it, it's AWESOME!!!Here's a video of a preview performance we did at the mall!

This is Sarah and Jonathan who play Mary And Joseph. You may know the Nativity Story, but you've never seen it like this before (unless you've seen Mary before, it's an annual show)

Captains Blog Stardate 11202011 Munchkins and Adding Scenes

Wizard Of Oz Munchkin Dies

Karl had a cruel father, who didn't understand that dwarfism was an incurable condition, so he attempted really primitive and torturous cures. Obviously they didn't work. Karl's father was probably scared of things   that were different, so he wanted him to be taller. If I were Karl's father I would have treated Karl like a normal kid. If I had been Karl I would have called CPS.

Here's the story this is based on

Adding Scenes

We are including video scenes that help us tell our story. Ayiti uses story telling well. It does this with slides and pictures that say what's happening to your family. Tesla Adventure tells a story. It has different scenes, and they tell a complete story.

This is a dog wearing Scuba Gear
It has nothing to do with the topic, but the required blogs page doesn't say the picture has to be relevant, and I couldn't think of a picture that fit this topic. I just thought it was funny.

Captains Blog, Stardate 11112011 (Robotic Guide Dog Blog)

A robotic dog wouldn't be distracted as easily as a real dog. However, a real dog has intuition that a robot wouldnt have. A real dog also gives affection, something technology can never replicate. If I needed a seeing eye dog I would get a real one. I sure wouldn't use my own pet dog, he'd probably lead me straight into oncoming traffic at the first sign of bacon.

PICTURES!

This is a picture of a robotic toy dog. I owned one of these when I was little! Although these arent anything like the dogs talked about in the news story, this blog reminded me of them.

Captains Blog, Stardate 11112011 (Developing A Primary Game Scene)

Developing A Primary Game Scene Blog

One flash topic we are using in our game is collision detection. When the victim touches the items, they appear in his inventory. When the bully touches the victim, the items AND the victim all return to their original positions. Our game will be educational, because it shows real situations. It will improve when we add our video cutscenes. These show a story while also presenting facts about bullies!

Captains Blog Stardate 11611 Drawing a Scene/Blind Runner (no, I didnt possibly wait until 10PM sunday night to do my blog)

Drawing A Scene

A new concept I've learned  about my topic is that bullies take many forms. I would have never thought of a small guy as a bully, but as Yoda says (I know I'm a trekkie, but I also love star wars, sue me.) "Size matters not!" The US government site about bullying helped me with this. I can trust this site because its a US government site that ends in .gov.

Blind Runner

Stargardts disease makes you gradually loose your sight. It's hereditary, so you have it at birth. I dont enjoy running, so I'd probably use it as an excuse, but I'd keep doing theater, making films would be all but impossible though. I think I could trust a guide dog, because they've been used for a long time.
